Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Release Window Locked In

PlayStation players get clarity on when the racer arrives

Summary

– Forza Horizon 6 launches on PS5 later in 2026

– Xbox and PC versions arrive first with a May release

– Move continues Microsoft’s multi-platform strategy

Forza Horizon 6 is officially on the way to PlayStation 5, but not at the same time as its Xbox and PC counterparts.

During the Xbox Developer Direct on January 22, Playground Games confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will release on PlayStation 5 later this year, with a release before the end of 2026.

The announcement came alongside new gameplay footage and confirmation that the racing title launches first on Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19.

PlayStation Games previously stated that the PlayStation version would arrive after launch, citing strong interest across multiple platforms as the reason for the staggered release.

This approach mirrors Microsoft’s broader shift toward expanding formerly exclusive franchises, with titles like Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, and Indiana Jones & The Great Circle already making the jump.

While a specific PS5 release date has not been announced, confirmation of a 2026 window ensures PlayStation players will not have to wait until 2027 to hit the road.
