astle of Heart Retold is receiving physical editions in early 2026
– The game launches on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 on February 20
– Retold features major gameplay, visual, and story upgrades
Castle of Heart Retold is officially receiving a physical release, giving fans of action platformers a boxed edition to add to their collections. Funbox Media Ltd will handle distribution for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
The physical editions are scheduled to launch on February 20. Pre-orders are already live for both platforms, marking a new chapter for the dark fantasy title inspired by Slavic mythology.
Castle of Heart Retold places players in the role of Svaran, a cursed warrior battling against a powerful sorcerer who serves the dark god Chernobog. As the curse slowly turns Svaran’s body to stone, constant combat becomes essential, as hesitation leads to disintegration and the loss of combat abilities.
The game spans four distinct mythological regions filled with deadly traps, aggressive enemies, and demanding platforming challenges. Players will face creatures drawn from Slavic folklore while wielding a wide variety of melee and ranged weapons, culminating in intense boss encounters that test timing and reflexes.
Retold serves as the definitive version of the game, featuring rebalanced combat, smoother platforming, improved controls, and a redesigned user interface. Visual upgrades include new animations, enhanced lighting, remixed music, and more detailed environments.
The narrative has also been fully reworked, with rewritten dialogue, remade cutscenes, and expanded story endings. Players who collect the crystals of Mokosh can unlock reimagined conclusions that deepen the tale of Svaran and Mira’s defiance against evil.
