Guile’s flat top wins an unusual choice between two familiar looks.
Summary
– Cody Rhodes says he would not wear Stardust face paint again even for one day
– He chose a year with Guile’s haircut over two weeks in the paint
– The comparison came during an Overtime interview about his Street Fighter role
Cody Rhodes has little interest in revisiting Stardust’s appearance, even when the alternative involves keeping Guile’s towering flat top for an entire year.
Overtime presented Rhodes with a choice between wearing his former WWE character’s face paint for two weeks or living with the Street Fighter hairstyle for a year. He picked the haircut, despite acknowledging that twelve months would be a considerable commitment.
Rhodes went further than the question required. He explained that he could not imagine wanting to put the Stardust paint back on for even a single day, making the flat top his clear preference.
The exchange connected two different periods of his career. Rhodes portrays Guile in Street Fighter, while Stardust was a character he performed during his first WWE run.
Stardust debuted in 2014 as a counterpart to his brother Dustin Rhodes’ Goldust persona. The costume and face paint became closely associated with the role, which Rhodes continued to perform before leaving WWE in 2016.
His frustration with the character has been a recurring subject in interviews. Rhodes has previously discussed wanting to compete under his own identity rather than continuing as Stardust.
This latest answer was a response to a playful hypothetical, rather than an announcement about WWE creative plans. Still, his preference left little room for doubt about which look he would be willing to revisit.
