The AEW World Champion gets his first challenger at All Out
Summary
– Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley at All Out
– Moxley confronted Ospreay after the September 2 episode of Dynamite
– The title match takes place September 26 in Chicago
Will Ospreay already has his first AEW World Championship defense scheduled, with Jon Moxley waiting for him at All Out.
The match was confirmed following the closing moments of the September 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, where Ospreay and Moxley came face-to-face after a chaotic main event.
Ospreay teamed with Andrade El Idolo, HENARE, Callum Newman, and Francesco Akira against Ricochet, Toa Liona, Bishop Kaun, Gabe Kidd, and Clark Connors.
The AEW World Champion secured the victory for his team after connecting with the Hidden Blade.
Things quickly broke down after the bell as Andrade and Kidd continued fighting, forcing security to intervene.
Ospreay attempted to help Andrade but was caught with a low blow from Kidd. Kidd then grabbed a chair and began attacking Ospreay until Moxley and the Death Riders arrived to stop the assault.
After the rest of the chaos cleared, Ospreay and Moxley were left alone inside the ring.
Moxley picked up the AEW World Championship and held it before eventually handing the title back to Ospreay.
The two stood face-to-face without backing down, and AEW immediately followed the staredown with an on-screen graphic confirming their championship match at All Out.
Ospreay captured the AEW World Championship by defeating Kenny Omega in the main event of All In London.
Moxley earned his place in the title match earlier on Dynamite by defeating AR Fox in a Continental Championship Eliminator Match.
AEW All Out takes place Saturday, September 26, at NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
Ospreay survived Kenny Omega at Wembley Stadium to become champion, but his first defense now puts him across the ring from one of AEW’s most dangerous veterans.
