The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 continues on August 23 with Episode 5, titled “Imperialis,” as Maggie, Negan, and their fellow survivors enter the second half of the season.
AMC will air the episode on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, while AMC+ subscribers will receive much earlier access. “Imperialis” is scheduled to become available on AMC+ at 12:00 a.m. PT, which means viewers on the East Coast can begin streaming at 3:00 a.m. ET.
The AMC+ release translates to 2:00 a.m. CT across the Central Time Zone and 1:00 a.m. MT for Mountain Time viewers. Alaska receives the episode at 11:00 p.m. AKDT on Saturday, August 22, while Hawaii viewers can begin watching at 9:00 p.m. HST that same night.
Episode 5 will follow several major developments from “Found/Lost.” Maggie has continued growing closer to Luis and even imagined sharing a kiss with him, creating another personal storyline to watch as their relationship develops.
A much more immediate problem is threatening Maggie and Renata’s community. An earthquake damaged their haven and destroyed the pantry along with a significant amount of their food supply, leaving the survivors facing another potentially dangerous shortage.
The group had already started planting crops, but those resources are unlikely to solve their immediate problem. Maggie, Negan, Renata, Luis, and Dillard could be forced back into dangerous parts of New York City while searching for food and other supplies.
The damaged ground surrounding the hospital could also raise questions about whether the community can continue to use the location as a permanent home. Moving an entire group of survivors would create another major challenge at a time when resources are already limited.
“Imperialis” arrives as Dead City moves into the second half of Season 3, with the earthquake creating an immediate survival problem. At the same time, Maggie’s relationships and the future of her community continue to develop.
