Matt Hardy says he and Jeff are far from done, teasing more short-term WWE runs

Summary

– Matt Hardy discussed the Hardys’ next steps following their NXT Halloween Havoc loss

– He envisions short, impactful “novelty act” runs across WWE and TNA

– The WWE Hall of Fame duo could appear on Raw, SmackDown, or NXT again soon

Matt Hardy isn’t walking away from WWE anytime soon. Following his and Jeff Hardy’s recent NXT Halloween Havoc appearance, the veteran tag team legend revealed that the door remains open for future WWE involvement—and that fans shouldn’t rule out seeing them back on any brand.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt explained his vision for how the Hardys could continue to thrive while balancing opportunities in both WWE and TNA. “In a perfect world, I’d like to see myself and Jeff spend a little more time with TNA,” Matt said. “Maybe we stick our heads back into NXT, do another little run there. Maybe we stick our heads into Raw or SmackDown for a short stint.”

He noted that he believes WWE now sees the Hardys as “legacy acts,” and that’s exactly how he wants them to be used—icons making short, impactful appearances rather than grinding through a full-time schedule. “If we come in like a novelty act and have a short, explosive run, that’s when we’re at our best,” he said.

The Hardys’ most recent NXT run gave fans a dose of nostalgia while also building new crossover momentum between WWE and TNA. Matt emphasized that, while nothing is guaranteed, the unpredictability of the wrestling world keeps things exciting. “It’s pro wrestling—never say never. Anything could happen in 2026,” he added.

From their iconic TLC battles to their modern-day returns, Matt and Jeff Hardy have remained fixtures of tag team greatness for nearly three decades. Whether they next show up in NXT, Raw, or SmackDown, it’s clear the brothers from Cameron, North Carolina, aren’t finished creating moments that define generations.
