D-Von Dudley has officially identified Jim Ross as the WWE figure who made racially insensitive comments toward him during the Attitude Era. The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the long-standing rumors while appearing on the Duke LovesRasslin podcast, ending months of speculation and false online assumptions.

D-Von made it clear that other names frequently mentioned—such as Vince McMahon, Michael Hayes, and John Laurinaitis—had nothing to do with the incident. He praised them for their professional support throughout his WWE career, both as a performer and later as a producer.

“Did I come out and say ten-gallon hat? Yes,” D-Von said. “Did Maven let the cat out of the bag? Yes. Was it J.R.? Yes, I did have a problem with J.R. back then.” He confirmed that the remarks deeply affected him then but said he’s chosen to move forward through forgiveness rather than resentment.

The former tag team star also pointed out that several witnesses, including Bubba Ray Dudley, Paul Heyman, Spike Dudley, and Tommy Dreamer, were present during the incident. He stressed that his decision to speak now wasn’t about seeking controversy but closure.

“No one’s pulling the race card,” he explained. “People kept asking who it was, and I decided to answer. That was my way of letting it go.”

Despite his disappointment, D-Von expressed compassion toward Ross, who has faced recent health struggles, saying he prays for his recovery and harbors no animosity. “I haven’t talked to him, but I’ve forgiven him in my heart,” he said. “I won’t forget, but I do have to forgive him.”

D-Von’s comments bring a difficult but meaningful chapter of wrestling history into the light, marked by pain, growth, and grace.
