Tatum Paxley’s First NXT Women’s Title Defense Ends in Chaos

The new champion’s open challenge quickly spiraled out of control

Summary

– Tatum Paxley spun her own wheel of challengers after winning at Halloween Havoc

– Lola Vice earned the title shot, but outside interference stopped the match

– Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence left Paxley laid out after a post-match assault

Tatum Paxley promised things would get unpredictable under her title reign, and she delivered immediately. On the October 28 episode of NXT, just days after winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Jacy Jayne at Halloween Havoc, Paxley shocked fans by announcing she would defend her title that night.

With no official “spin the wheel” gimmick used at Halloween Havoc, Paxley created her own version live on air. The wheel landed on Lola Vice, setting up an impromptu championship bout. Izzi Dame wasn’t pleased to see her name missing from the list, and Paxley’s cryptic comment that they would “never” fight raised eyebrows.

The match itself never concluded. Midway through, Fatal Influence attacked Izzi Dame at ringside, drawing chaos around the ring. Moments later, Lainey Reid, Fallon Henley, and former champion Jacy Jayne surrounded the squared circle, leading to a full-scale invasion that forced the referee to call for a disqualification.

After the bell, Jayne and her allies unleashed a brutal assault. Paxley suffered a vicious Rolling Encore from Jayne, leaving the new champion motionless as Fatal Influence stood tall to close the segment. The message was clear: Paxley’s reign may have just begun, but the target on her back is already enormous.
