Tony Khan has shared new details about how Ronda Rousey’s surprise appearance at AEW Revolution came together. The unexpected moment took place on March 15 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Rousey appeared shortly after Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir during the event. Storm was celebrating the victory when Rousey suddenly entered the ring and confronted her face to face.

Security officials rushed in to separate the two women before the situation escalated into a full fight. The tension escalated moments later when Marina Shafir attacked Storm from behind and knocked the champion down.

Rousey and Shafir then left the arena floor by walking through the crowd as fans reacted loudly to the chaos. The segment became one of the most talked-about moments of the event.

Khan addressed the situation during the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum. He explained that Rousey’s appearance was connected to her friendship with Marina Shafir.

Khan said Shafir brought Rousey in as backup because everyone had been banned from ringside during the match. He also praised the match between Storm and Shafir, calling it a strong wrestling contest.

Khan added that AEW has maintained a positive relationship with Rousey. He said she has wrestled for the promotion before and is always welcome in AEW.

Another interesting note came when Khan revealed that Rousey invited AEW talent to attend her upcoming mixed martial arts return fight. He mentioned that he had personally received an invitation as well.

Rousey is currently preparing for an MMA return bout against Gina Carano, scheduled for May 2026. The fight will take place under Jake Paul’s MVP promotion and is expected to stream on Netflix.
