– The game features more than 400 playable superstars and four new match types

– Major updates arrive across modes, including Showcase, Universe, MyRISE, and MyGM

WWE 2K26 has officially launched worldwide with several special editions now available ahead of the standard release. The newest entry in the long-running wrestling video game series introduces major changes across nearly every game mode.

Visual Concepts developed the game while 2K published the title across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. The King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night War Edition are available immediately, while the standard edition releases March 13.

The cover star for WWE 2K26 is CM Punk, who also plays a major role in the game’s centerpiece mode. The new 2K Showcase, titled Punked: CM Punk’s Personal Journey, allows players to relive major moments from Punk’s career while exploring alternate scenarios and fantasy matchups.

Players will also find the largest roster in franchise history. WWE 2K26 includes more than 400 playable characters featuring current WWE superstars, legends, and Hall of Famers. Names featured in the roster include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Roman Reigns, The Rock, Bret Hart, Liv Morgan, Seth Rollins, Eddie Guerrero, and Andre the Giant, among many others.

Several gameplay additions also headline this year’s release. Four new match types have been introduced, including I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster matches. New weapons, such as stackable tables, shopping carts, and thumbtacks, are now available, while interactive environments allow for more chaotic action around the arena.

The game also expands its intergender match options across multiple modes. Updated reversal mechanics and a revised stamina system add a more strategic layer to matches, while upgraded physics aim to make the in-ring action feel more dynamic.

Creation tools have also received a major upgrade. Players now have access to 200 Create-A-Superstar save slots and expanded image storage. Deeper face and body morphing options, along with two-tone hair color blending, give users more customization freedom than in previous titles.

MyGM mode now supports larger matches, including five-, six-, and eight-person contests, along with additional match types and expanded show scheduling. These changes provide new challenges for players managing their brands.

The MyRISE career experience introduces a storyline centered around a returning superstar known as The Archetype. Players choose whether to compete in the men’s or women’s division while deciding how their character responds after suffering a major defeat to champions Bron Breakker or Jordynne Grace.

Universe mode also receives a long-requested feature with the arrival of the WWE Draft. Players can now move superstars between shows over the course of a draft week while managing rivalries and storylines across their custom wrestling world.

The Island, the game’s social hub, also returns with a new storyline that places players in the middle of a battle between three factions led by Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and CM Punk. New environments, quests, and customization options expand the experience.

Additional post-launch content will be delivered through the new Ringside Pass system. The seasonal model replaces the previous DLC approach and will introduce new characters and unlockables throughout the year, including talent from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

Four editions of WWE 2K26 are available. The Standard Edition launches at $69.99. The King of Kings Edition includes bonus content and early access. The Attitude Era Edition adds classic superstars and arenas from WWE’s late-1990s era. The Monday Night War Edition offers the most content, including additional seasons of the Ringside Pass and bonus characters tied to wrestling’s historic rivalry period.
