Bronson Reed is bringing his Australian pride to WWE Crown Jewel. Speaking with The West Sport, the Melbourne native revealed that his upcoming Australian Street Fight against Roman Reigns will feature weapons inspired by his home country.
“I’m facing the face of WWE. I’m facing Roman Reigns. So it’s a huge deal for me,” Reed said. “An Australian street fight is different from a normal one. You could have a kangaroo warning sign, you could smack him over the head with that. There’s a boomerang you could smack him with as well. But I think the ultimate Australian weapon is a cricket bat. That was mine when I was a kid, the old diner drive boundary bat. I could do some serious damage with that.”
Reed laughed about “hitting Reigns for six,” a nod to cricket’s biggest scoring shot, before making it clear that Australians take pride in toughness. “We do it a little harder down here,” he said. “Even in our sports, we don’t wear much protective gear, so Roman has to be ready to take it up a notch compared to a normal street fight.”
Asked if he would actually use a cricket bat in the match, Reed didn’t hesitate. “Yes, I would 100% whack Roman Reigns with a cricket bat, as long as he doesn’t get it in his hands. That’s always the risk with bringing weapons into a match.”
Reed now looks to redeem himself after losing to Reigns earlier this year at Clash in Paris. With home advantage and a few homegrown surprises, he’s ready to turn the Australian Street Fight into his defining moment.
