CM Punk is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy The Bodyguard. Deadline confirmed the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, credited as Phillip Jack Brooks, will join a cast led by Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki in the adaptation of Katherine Center’s bestselling novel.
Punk will portray Doghouse, a physically intimidating but humorous member of the security detail. The character blends toughness with personality, making it a natural fit for the champion’s on-screen presence.
The film follows a dedicated bodyguard, played by Meester, who is assigned to protect a famous action star portrayed by Padalecki after he becomes the target of a stalker. Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum directs the movie with a script from Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith.
The project features supporting roles from Andie MacDowell, Walker Hayes, Noah LaLonde, and Toby Sandeman. The ensemble brings a mix of comedy, drama, and holiday energy to the production.
Punk continues to build his acting résumé. He recently voiced Officer Zebroski in Zootopia 2 and completed work on Syfy’s Revival. His next film, Night Patrol, is set to arrive in theaters in January 2026.
His schedule showcases a strong balance between WWE commitments and new creative opportunities, highlighting his growing crossover appeal.
