Kiefer Sutherland shared heartfelt praise for the people of Knaresborough as he reflected on filming his new holiday movie, Tinsel Town. Speaking with BBC Radio York, the actor said the warm reception he received in North Yorkshire left a lasting impression. He added that he made friends in the area and fully intends to return.

Tinsel Town features Sutherland as Bradley Mack, a former Hollywood action star who finds himself cast in a small village’s lively production of Cinderella. Rebel Wilson appears as Jill, the outspoken choreographer guiding the chaotic show. The film offers a comedic take on British panto traditions, something Sutherland said he came to appreciate during production.

Residents in Knaresborough recalled Sutherland as friendly and approachable throughout filming. Crews worked in several locations around the town, including Castlegate, Riverside, and Green Dragon Yard. Director Chris Foggin described the town as the perfect backdrop and credited local support for making the shoot successful.

Before Tinsel Town launches on Sky Cinema on Friday, Knaresborough’s Frazer Theatre hosted an early screening. The exclusive showing was made possible with the assistance of a resident who coordinated the necessary permissions for the event.
