His father kept the attacker’s identity a surprise

Summary

– Dominik Mysterio revisited Brock Lesnar’s September 2019 Raw attack

– Rey Mysterio warned him about the beating but withheld Lesnar’s identity

– Dominik said his fear and the physical pain were real

Dominik Mysterio remembers Brock Lesnar’s attack on the September 30, 2019, episode of WWE Raw as an intimidating introduction to the business, months before his first official match.

Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, Dominik said that Rey Mysterio had warned him he would be attacked during the show. His father, however, declined to reveal who would be responsible.

“He was like, ‘You’re gonna get your ass beat.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, cool. By who?’ He’s like, ‘I’m not gonna tell you.’”

Dominik said he learned the answer when Lesnar’s entrance music played during Rey’s promo. Although he knew an attack was planned, he did not know exactly what would happen.

Lesnar dragged him from his seat and threw him around ringside, including into the ring post and onto the floor. Rewatching the footage, Dominik described the experience as a slow initiation into wrestling.

“Ragdolled me, and then hit me in the post, and then body-slammed me on the ground.”

Dominik had already begun training, but his debut match against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2020 was still ahead of him. He said the fear visible during the segment reflected how he actually felt.

“I was terrified.”

According to Dominik, his instructions were simple: sit down and let Lesnar handle the action. He recalled how easily Lesnar moved him and emphasized that the physical discomfort was genuine.

“I mean, this was all real pain.”

As the podcast group watched the attack, Dominik laughed about its length and Lesnar repeatedly returning to deliver more punishment. He joked that he should have stayed home or been looking for a regular job instead.

He also noticed the reactions of the people around ringside, including producers moving away as Lesnar continued the assault.

Dominik can now find humor in the segment, but his account makes clear how daunting it was to take part before he had wrestled his first match. The attack was a planned television angle, while the fear and pain he described were personal memories of performing it.
