WWE’s Crown Jewel plans are being discussed internally after the United States issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Saudi Arabia.
The November 7 event remains scheduled for Riyadh, but the State Department is warning Americans to reconsider travel because of threats involving Iranian missiles and drones, armed conflict, and terrorism.
Areas near the Yemen border remain under a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” warning, while Saudi Arabia is listed under Level 3.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer connected the advisory to Crown Jewel and next year’s WrestleMania 43, which is also scheduled for Riyadh. He noted that the immediate concern is WWE’s November event.
WrestleVotes later reported that a WWE source confirmed the travel situation has become a topic of discussion within the company. No decision has been made to move, cancel, or postpone Crown Jewel.
The November 7 date is expected to remain locked because WWE has an ESPN commitment for that day. WrestleVotes reported that WWE intends to hold an event regardless of the location.
That could give WWE the option of moving the show if sending talent and staff to Saudi Arabia becomes unsafe. Riyadh remains the planned destination, but the location now appears less certain than the date.
WWE has already scheduled a rare double taping of Raw and SmackDown at Barclays Center before Crown Jewel, giving the roster time to prepare for the international trip.
The event also carries a major financial commitment. Bryan Alvarez said that approximately $60 million is tied to the Saudi show, while Meltzer noted that WWE could add another date to its agreement if the event were delayed.
WWE has dealt with similar concerns before. Nick Khan previously said the company would only travel to Saudi Arabia if security officials and government contacts determined that conditions were safe.
For now, Crown Jewel remains scheduled for Riyadh on November 7. WWE is monitoring the advisory, discussing its options internally, and keeping the event date in place while the location remains under review.
