Andy Williams received another tribute on September 12 when his name appeared on a NASCAR driven by Brad Perez.
Williams, better known to wrestling fans as The Butcher, was honored above the driver’s window of Perez’s No. 42 car.
The tribute appeared during the NASCAR O’Reilly Series Nu Way 225 Powered by Bobcat and Sauced by Blues Hog at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.
Steve Stasiak shared a photograph of the tribute after it was submitted to Book Pro Wrestlers by reader Chuck Stahlheber. According to Stahlheber, a friend sponsored the car and used part of the available space to remember Williams.
The tribute came on the same night AEW opened Collision with a 10-bell salute for Williams. His photograph was displayed alongside flowers and a guitar during the memorial.
Williams died at 48 after collapsing following his match at Enjoy Wrestling’s Five Years event in Millvale, Pennsylvania, on September 5.
CPR was administered before Williams was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His official cause and manner of death remain pending.
Williams competed in AEW alongside The Blade while also building a successful music career as a guitarist for Every Time I Die and Atomic Rule.
One week after his death, Williams was remembered inside an AEW arena and on a NASCAR track hundreds of miles away.
