Matt Mathews received a painful welcome to WWE Raw during the September 7 episode from Birmingham, Alabama.
Jackie Redmond interviewed the comedian and Alabama native from the crowd before The Miz and Kit Wilson interrupted the segment.
Miz complained about Mathews receiving television time during the week of his 20th anniversary in WWE. Wilson joined the insults and told Mathews that he needed to show the former WWE Champion more respect.
Mathews responded by asking Wilson who he was before telling Miz that he thought he had retired. The exchange quickly became physical when Wilson pulled Mathews over the barricade and sent him into the ring.
Wilson attempted to attack, but Mathews surprised him with a hurricanrana. Miz then struck from behind and dropped the comedian with the Skull Crushing Finale.
Bron Breakker arrived before Miz, and Wilson could continue celebrating. The Vision member charged toward the ring and delivered Spears to both men at ringside.
Breakker then turned his attention toward Mathews, who was still recovering inside the ring. He lined up the comedian and drove him into the mat with another powerful Spear.
Mathews went from making jokes at Miz’s expense to taking two of WWE’s most dangerous finishing moves. Breakker showed no concern for who stood in his way as he destroyed Miz, Wilson, and Mathews before his Money in the Bank qualifying match.
