Raquel Rodriguez’s Interference Changes the Course of the Match

Summary

– Liv Morgan was set to retain her title at Bad Blood, but the match was changed on the spot.

– Raquel Rodriguez interfered, causing a disqualification, which wasn’t the original plan.

– Morgan will now face Nia Jax at Crown Jewel to determine the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.

The finish to Liv Morgan’s WWE Women’s World Championship match against Rhea Ripley at Bad Blood shocked everyone when Raquel Rodriguez interfered, causing a disqualification. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that this wasn’t the planned outcome, and the finish was changed.

According to the original plan, Morgan was always supposed to leave with the title. Rodriguez was set to chokeslam Ripley behind the referee’s back, allowing Morgan to pin her. However, Rodriguez’s interference happened right before the referee, forcing the official to call the match off, which made the situation awkward. Despite this, Rodriguez still made her presence felt by attacking Ripley after the match ended, aligning herself with The Judgment Day.

Meltzer noted that the crowd in the State Farm Arena was disappointed, as a disqualification finish at a Premium Live Event is often unpopular. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Hell in a Cell match stood out among the few on the card without outside interference.

Despite the controversial finish, Ripley must wait for another shot at Morgan’s title. Liv Morgan is now set to face WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax at Crown Jewel on November 2 to determine the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
