Viewership and Ratings Take a Hit

Summary

– AEW Dynamite’s fifth-anniversary episode drew 680,000 viewers, a 3.1 percent decrease from the previous week.

– The show finished seventh on the prime time cable charts with a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic, marking a 13 percent drop.

– Compared to the same week in 2023, overall viewership declined by 15 percent, and the 18-49 rating dropped by 28.6 percent.

AEW Dynamite’s fifth-anniversary episode on TBS pulled in an average of 680,000 viewers, down 3.1 percent from the previous week. This marks the lowest audience total for the show since September 4 and ties for the sixth-lowest viewership the show has seen in 2024.

Regarding ratings, Dynamite finished seventh on the prime time cable charts with a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This rating represents a 13 percent decrease from last week and is the fifth-lowest rating AEW Dynamite has achieved in this category in 2024. The last time the ratings were this low was also on September 4.

The dip in viewership can be partly attributed to stiff competition. AEW Dynamite went head-to-head with a Major League Baseball playoff game on ESPN, which led the night in television ratings, garnering a 0.87 rating in the 18-49 demo and attracting 3.69 million viewers overall.

Compared to the same week in 2023, AEW Dynamite saw a significant drop in performance. Viewership fell by 15 percent, while the 18-49 demo rating suffered a 28.6 percent decrease.
