During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cody Rhodes he recently opened up about his experiences in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). While expressing his love for AEW, Rhodes admitted that his departure from the company was less than ideal, describing the end of his run as “terrible” due to behind-the-scenes squabbles.

Rhodes compared his situation to a crucial narrative in the film “The Dark Knight,” emphasizing the need for some AEW fans to view him as the villain. Despite these challenges, he recalled his significant milestones in AEW, including participating in the original “All In” event and leading younger talents. He also appreciated Tony Khan’s vision and investment in AEW.

Rhodes acknowledged that he always viewed his time in AEW as temporary, knowing something greater awaited him. He compared his journey to Hulk Hogan’s tenure in the AWA before moving to WWE, stating that AEW allowed him to sharpen his skills and return to WWE as a complete package.

Although Rhodes was hesitant to speak negatively, he did mention his dislike for a part of the Young Bucks’ memoir, “Killing the Business,” which stated that he was the last to sign with AEW. He felt this detail misrepresented his involvement in the company’s origins.
