Kiefer Sutherland, widely known for his role as Jack Bauer in 24, is set to star in the new action-packed thriller Sierra Madre. Directed by Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), the film begins production this fall in Colombia. Written by Ian McKenzie Jeffers (The Grey) and Delbert Hancock, Sierra Madre promises intense action and high stakes.

In Sierra Madre, Sutherland portrays Captain Jordan Wright, who must unite his squadron to combat a powerful cartel during a crewmate’s wedding. The team is tasked with protecting themselves and the village under the cartel’s control. This role naturally fits Sutherland, who excels in intense, action-driven characters. Sutherland described the film as “a compelling thriller with great emotional and dramatic opportunities.”

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy are in theaters, offering a mystery/thriller element. Additionally, Dev Patel made his directorial debut with Monkey Man, produced by Jordan Peele.
