Monday Night RAWâs momentous relocation to Netflix in January 2025, under a staggering $5 billion decade-long agreement, has sent shockwaves through the global wrestling community.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared insight into the transition: âFor most of the world, theyâre going to be taking over the WWE Network. The WWE Network itself, existing outside the United States, will fold by year-end, with Netflix picking up the content.â
Meltzer also addressed the fate of WWEâs extensive archival content: âSo a lot of people have asked will they pick up all the content? All the archives? I donât know. But they will be the sole source of that, the archival content of all the old territories and stuff on the old WWE Network. That will move to Netflix outside the United States in January.â
With this decade-long deal in place, the wrestling community speculates on Netflixâs potential acquisition of more WWE content once the Peacock deal expires. WWE RAW might also extend its overrun periods, as the USA Networkâs WWE deal wonât extend until 2025.
WWE President Nick Khan has hinted at plans to shift RAW from Monday nights. How WWE adapts to the global shutdown of the WWE Network in 2025 will be a pivotal storyline.
