AEW Shows Face Challenges in Ratings

Summary:**
– AEW Collision’s latest episode on TNT drew 400,000 viewers, a slight decrease from the previous week.
– The show faced stiff competition from an NFL playoff game, the most viewed streaming event in history.
– Battle of the Belts, following Collision, also saw a drop in viewership and ratings, retaining about 90% of Collision’s audience.

Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision experienced a slight dip in viewership, averaging 400,000 viewers on TNT. This marks a 0.5 percent decrease from the previous week and represents the lowest audience for the show since late November. Notably, this was also one of the lowest viewership figures for Collision on a Saturday without a competing WWE event.

The episode faced tough competition, going head-to-head with an NFL playoff game on Peacock, which attracted over 23 million viewers, setting a record for the most viewed streaming event.

Regarding demographics, Collision drew a 0.10 rating in the key 18-49 age group, down 23.1 percent from the previous week. This is the lowest rating for the show since November, particularly for episodes not coinciding with WWE events.

Following Collision, TNT aired Battle of the Belts, which also saw a decrease in viewership. The special averaged 351,000 viewers and a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic, marking the second-lowest viewership of the nine specials aired and the lowest rating in the same demographic.

Despite the lower numbers, Battle of the Belts retained nearly 90 percent of Collision’s overall audience and exactly 90 percent of its 18-49 demo rating. This retention rate is higher than usual for the show.
