Voices of TNA, Mike Tenay and Don West, Honored for Their Impact
Eric Bischoff recently expressed his elation over the news of Mike Tenay and Don West’s induction into the TNA Hall of Fame. In a segment on the “83 Weeks” channel, Bischoff shared his thoughts on the significant contributions both Tenay and West made to the wrestling industry, particularly during their tenure with TNA.
Bischoff highlighted Mike Tenay’s unparalleled knowledge, especially when it came to the luchadors and the cruiserweight division on Nitro. He emphasized that Tenay’s vast background knowledge and ability to weave it into the ongoing action and story were unmatched. According to Bischoff, the cruiserweight division might not have achieved its success without Tenay’s credible commentary. He stated, “Mike Tenay brought credibility… I don’t think that the cruiserweight division would have had the success that it did… had it not been for the credibility and interest that Mike Tenay was able to bring to it.”
Don West, who alongside Tenay, was the voice of TNA for many years, was also celebrated by Bischoff. He mentioned the close bond between Tenay and West and expressed his happiness for both of them receiving this honor.
Bischoff concluded by acknowledging the critical role both commentators played in the growth and success of WCW Nitro and the wrestling industry as a whole.
