Despite the Drop, NXT Maintains Strong Viewer Numbers
Despite the allure of big names like John Cena and The Undertaker, this week’s WWE NXT episode on the USA Network saw a dip, pulling in 798,000 viewers. This marks a 13.4% decrease from the previous week’s high-octane episode. However, it’s worth noting that this is the fifth most-watched NXT episode for 2023, with the top four episodes all airing in the last five weeks.
The episode didn’t fare as well in the 18-49 demographic, securing a 0.23 rating, which is a 23.3% drop from the previous week. Yet, this ties as the fourth-best rating NXT has achieved this year in this category.
On the broader cable sports landscape, NXT faced stiff competition, particularly from MLB playoff broadcasts. The standout was the NLCS game featuring the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks, which boasted a whopping 5.13 million viewers and a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 bracket.
Year-over-year comparisons paint a brighter picture for NXT. When matched against the same week in 2022, there’s an 18.1% uptick in viewership and a commendable 27.8% rise in the 18-49 demographic rating.
