Hikaru Shida Overcomes Odds and Interference to Reclaim Gold

Hikaru Shida etched her name in the annals of AEW history in a night filled with high-octane action and unexpected twists. Facing off against Saraya on Dynamite Title Tuesday, Shida showcased resilience, skill, and determination to become the first-ever three-time AEW Women’s World Champion.

The match was not without its share of drama. With intentions clearly against Shida, Ruby Soho attempted an early interference using spray paint. However, Shida’s quick reflexes turned the tables, reversing the attack. This set the stage for “Timeless” Toni Storm to make her presence felt, rushing in to fend off Soho with a rather unconventional weapon – shoes. The ensuing chaos saw both Soho and Storm brawl their way out, leaving the championship bout to its rightful competitors.

Saraya, not one to be easily defeated, delivered two devastating Knight Caps. But Shida, showcasing the heart of a champion, kicked out of both. She cleverly cradled Saraya, avoiding a third, securing the pinfall and the coveted Women’s World Championship.

This loss marked the end of Saraya’s 45-day reign, which began with a victory over Toni Storm, Shida, and Britt Baker at the All In event on August 27.

Shida’s win cements her legacy with the most Women’s World title victories in AEW and adds to her impressive record of 397 days as the reigning champion.

It’s worth noting that this wasn’t the only title change of the evening. Earlier, Orange Cassidy bested Rey Fenix to clinch the International Championship, adding another layer of excitement to an already memorable Title Tuesday.
