A Shift in the Wrestling Ratings Landscape on Tuesday Night

This past Tuesday, the wrestling world witnessed a significant shift in the ratings game. WWE NXT, airing on the USA Network, pulled ahead with an impressive 921,000 viewers, marking a notable 7.5% uptick from the previous week. This surge in viewership is the most significant for NXT since its September 25, 2019 broadcast. Conversely, AEW Dynamite, which aired on TBS, managed 609,000 viewers, reflecting a 23.9% dip from its prior week.

Several factors contributed to NXT’s ratings win. The episode boasted a roster of wrestling heavyweights, including John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, and The Undertaker. Meanwhile, AEW Dynamite, which shifted its broadcast day due to MLB playoffs, highlighted a “Title Tuesday” theme and Adam Copeland’s anticipated in-ring debut against Luchasaurus.

Year-on-year metrics reveal NXT’s viewership grew by 25% overall and doubled in the 18-49 demographic. In stark contrast, AEW Dynamite’s viewership dropped by 38.1%, with an 18.8% decline in the 18-49 age bracket.
