Raw’s Viewership Numbers Rise, Defying NFL Season’s Dominance

In the ever-evolving landscape of sports entertainment, WWE Raw has pulled off a commendable feat. Despite the NFL season’s onset, which traditionally sees a dip in Raw’s viewership, the show has managed to draw its best ratings since the football season kicked off. The latest episode of Raw averaged an impressive 1.51 million viewers, securing a 0.48 rating in the crucial 18-49 demographic.

Interestingly, this surge in viewership came on a night when Raw faced stiff competition. The Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants game was broadcasted across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. Raw started the night on a high note, but the third hour witnessed a drop, with the Gunther vs. Tommaso Ciampa main event pulling in 1.35 million viewers.

However, the silver lining here is the growth in the younger demographic. Raw’s ratings showed a 3% overall increase from the previous week, with a 12% rise in the 18-49 age group and a whopping 33% jump in the 18-34 demographic. The growth is even more evident when compared with last year’s data. The 18-49 rating has seen a 17% uptick, and the 18-34 segment has skyrocketed with a 49% increase.
