Despite Facing NFL Giants, Raw Sees Growth in Key Demographics

WWE Raw faced a challenging night, competing against two NFL games broadcasted on ABC and ESPN. However, the wrestling world was abuzz, thanks to the impressive numbers from NXT, SmackDown, and the unexpected return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Friday. This mix of events led to Raw recording its lowest total viewership for a regular episode. Yet, there’s a silver lining: a significant surge in the 18-49 demographic, especially the 18-34 age group.

Raw’s average viewership stood at 1.33 million, with a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic. While the overall viewership dipped by two percent from the previous week, the 18-49 demographic saw a nine percent increase, and the 18-34 age group jumped by 22 percent. The spike in the male 18-34 demographic could be attributed to the curiosity generated by Johnson’s recent appearance.

The third hour of Raw marked another record low. However, the match between Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso managed to pull in more viewers towards the end. Year-over-year comparisons show Raw’s viewership down by 15 percent, but the younger audience segments have shown resilience and growth.
