Is a WWE Return on the Horizon?

In a recent development, CM Punk is keen on steering clear of the courts and focusing on what lies ahead. Following his split from All Elite Wrestling (AEW), the popular wrestling figure has made it evident that he doesn’t intend to sue AEW president Tony Khan.

According to the scoop from Haus of Wrestling, there’s currently no lawsuit in the works by Punk against Khan. In the words of Nick Hausman, Punk seems ready to step away from any impending litigation, as he desires to push past the constant AEW-related drama that had plagued his tenure there.

While there’s ambiguity surrounding whether Khan or AEW intends to take Punk to court, sources indicate a tranquil stance from both parties.

Speculations around Punk’s potential return to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) have surfaced, with Hausman claiming that some insiders from WWE see a collaboration as plausible. However, a marquee acquisition might not be on their immediate agenda given WWE’s current thriving state.

In the September 11 edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer opined on Punk’s future, asserting that the curtain has only dropped on his career if he chooses to end it. While WWE might not be in dire need of Punk, he remains a potential asset for them. Meltzer even mused on the idea of Punk making his way back to AEW, although such a decision could face considerable pushback.

On a similar note, WWE’s Nick Khan gave his two cents on Punk during a chat with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, stating, “We have immense respect for Phil. His contributions during his time here and his UFC endeavor are commendable. We wish him nothing but the best.”
