After TKO Merger, WWE Witnesses Its First Major Exit

Merger Fallout: Notable Departures in WWE’s Ranks

The seismic merger between WWE and UFC continues to send shockwaves through the wrestling world, with a spate of layoffs casting a shadow of uncertainty over the sports entertainment giant. In the latest wave of departures, the marketing and live events departments have borne the brunt of the restructuring.

Formerly, the departure of Jamie Horowitz, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Development and Digital, made headlines. However, the exodus didn’t stop there. WWE’s Head of Marketing, Catherine Newman, and Amanda Bloom were also among those handed their walking papers. The list grew longer with the exit of Andy Levine, marking yet another significant name on the roster of those parting ways with WWE.

A somber cloud now hangs over the company as over 40, and possibly more than 50, employees face the harsh reality of unemployment. The uncertainty lingers, with each employee wondering if they might be next in line for the dreaded call.

PW Insider has illuminated the extent of the damage, focusing on the toll taken on WWE’s marketing and live events divisions. While specific names from the live events team remain undisclosed, the marketing department has seen several prominent figures depart.

PWInsider.com revealed, “WWE’s Marketing division was hit pretty hard as part of today’s company restructuring following the Endeavor takeover. PWInsider.com has confirmed Kimberly Kirkegard, Brand Director, and Saverio Brighina, who held the position of Affiliate Marketing Manager, are among those departing that division and the company today.”

Although the live events department’s losses remain shrouded in mystery, the ripple effects of this restructuring are undeniable, reaching deep into the core of WWE’s operations.

It’s worth noting that the WWE Network and podcasting divisions had previously been affected by these sweeping changes. As these talented individuals embark on a quest for fresh opportunities, one can only hope they find new avenues to continue their careers.

The landscape of WWE is evolving at an unprecedented pace in the wake of its merger with UFC, leaving fans and employees alike in a state of anticipation and trepidation regarding the future of this entertainment powerhouse.
