WWE Hall of Famer Praises Today’s Female Wrestlers for Building on Past Foundations
WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus, recently shared her insights on the evolution and current state of the women’s division in WWE. In her appearance on GAW TV, Stratus expressed admiration for the current generation of female wrestlers, lauding them for taking the division to new heights.
Reflecting on her match against Becky Lynch, Stratus described it as a tribute to the stars she competed against during her prime wrestling years. She emphasized that while her generation laid the foundation for the women’s division, the current roster has transformed it into a towering skyscraper. “We definitely built the foundation; they built a freaking skyscraper out of it,” Stratus remarked, adding that the achievements of today’s female wrestlers are truly commendable.
Stratus also highlighted her experiences working with the likes of Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky. She expressed her fascination with the creative processes of her peers, especially observing how they prepare for their matches. Since her return to WWE earlier this year, Stratus has had the opportunity to wrestle with several of WWE’s current female stars, including Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Becky Lynch. Their match at Payback was particularly noteworthy and well-received by fans.
While it’s uncertain if Stratus will make another comeback in WWE, her recent matches, especially against Becky Lynch, have left an indelible mark, showcasing the blend of past and present talents in the women’s division.
