Father-Son Dynamics in Wrestling: Dominik Feels Overshadowed by Rey’s Achievements
Rey Mysterio, a stalwart in the wrestling industry, recently clinched the United States title, adding another feather to his illustrious cap. However, this victory has stirred up some family drama. Dominik Mysterio, Rey’s son, feels that his father’s recent win was an attempt to overshadow his achievements.
Earlier this month, Rey Mysterio faced Austin Theory and emerged victorious, becoming the new United States Champion. The win was celebrated by the Latino World Order (LWO). However, during an appearance on “The Bump,” when Dominik was asked about his feelings on Rey’s win, he expressed a different sentiment. Dominik accused Rey of trying to overshadow him with the United States Championship win, stating, “Not at all. I think it’s kind of sad that he feels the need to win a title to try and overshadow what I’m doing.”
Dominik further emphasized his position as the North American Champion, highlighting that he’s taken the title to Canada, Mexico, and the US. He added, “I think it’s kind of sad that my dad feels the need to try and overshadow me with his singles title. But whatever, he’s a deadbeat.”
Dominik’s return to NXT next week, where he will serve as the guest referee for a match between Mustafa Ali and Dragon Lee. The winner of this bout will challenge Dominik for his title at the NXT No Mercy special on October 1.
