The Possibility of Tyson’s Return After 1998 Explored

Bruce Prichard, a prominent figure in the wrestling world and host of the popular podcast “Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard,” recently delved into the topic of Mike Tyson’s involvement with WWF in 1998. The discussion was sparked by a fan’s question about whether there were any plans to bring Tyson back after his successful stint in 1998.

In the video titled “Bruce Prichard On The WWF Ever Wanting To Bring Mike Tyson Back After 1998,” Prichard revealed that while there weren’t solid plans in place, the door was always open for discussions. He mentioned that WWF would have loved to have Tyson do more than what he did at WrestleMania.

Prichard also touched upon Tyson’s boxing career, noting that after Tyson’s 2002 loss to Lennox Lewis and a subsequent fight in DC around 2005, Tyson could have been game for some wrestling spectacles. Despite any setbacks in his boxing career, Prichard emphasized that “Mike Tyson is Mike Tyson,” highlighting the boxer’s enduring appeal and celebrity status.

Interestingly, Prichard revealed that Shane McMahon had a good relationship with Tyson at the time and that there were discussions about Tyson possibly wrestling a match. However, these discussions have yet to progress, primarily because Tyson focused on resurrecting his boxing career.

The ultimate fantasy match, according to Prichard, would have been Mike Tyson vs. Steve Austin. While it remains a dream match for many fans, Prichard is still determining if Austin would have been keen on the idea.
