AEW President Comments on the Recent Controversy Surrounding Wheeler’s Aggravated Assault Charges

AEW President, Tony Khan, has finally broken his silence regarding the recent arrest of Cash Wheeler on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident, which took place on July 28, saw the alleged victim claim that Wheeler had brandished a firearm and threatened him. Following the incident, a warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was issued, and he was later released on a $2,500 bond after pleading not guilty through his attorney. As part of the conditions of his release, Wheeler was required to hand over all his firearms to the authorities.

During a media call promoting AEW’s “All In” event, Khan described the situation as “inconclusive.” He stated, “As for things that have happened outside of the ring, I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything. We’re still learning facts. Based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation. I think it’s a very inconclusive situation.”

Despite the ongoing controversy, FTR’s AEW tag team title defense against the Young Bucks is still scheduled to take place at AEW’s “All In” on August 27th. The wrestling community is keenly watching to see if FTR will retain their titles at the event.
