A Highly Anticipated Match Shifted, But Why?
Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus was a match many looked forward to at SummerSlam. However, to the surprise of fans, the match was postponed. Initial reports from WWE insiders suggested a compelling reason for the delay, hinting at potential physical concerns. But as it turns out, both Lynch and Stratus were in good health and available for the SummerSlam event.
The real reason behind the shift? WWE’s decision to limit the number of matches and the duration of pay-per-view shows. This decision led to certain matches, including the much-anticipated Lynch vs. Stratus bout, being rescheduled. Sources revealed that had the match taken place at SummerSlam, it would have been significantly constrained by time. Hence, the choice was made to feature it on a future episode of RAW. There was also talk of moving it to WWE Payback.
This change didn’t sit well with both Lynch and Stratus, especially as plans solidified just days before their RAW match. Several other wrestlers who expected to be on the SummerSlam card faced similar disappointments, with some even having made arrangements for friends and family to attend.
