WWE Superstar Dakota Kai Reveals the Insane Effort to Make It in Time for SummerSlam to Celebrate with Iyo Sky
Dakota Kai, who was released back in May 2022 but returned during SummerSlam that year, recently disclosed the frantic and almost unbelievable journey she had to undertake to be there for Iyo Sky’s huge win at WWE SummerSlam.
Kai explained that she found out at 1 pm on the day of SummerSlam that she was needed at the event. With her phone on “Do Not Disturb” and no alarm set, she woke up to a barrage of missed calls and texts, including from Bayley, telling her she was needed.
The ensuing chaos involved a mad scramble to get ready, find a flight, and make it to the airport. With only one flight left on Spirit Airlines, Kai’s anxiety was at an all-time high. Delays, maintenance issues, and a family wandering on the plane to switch seats further complicated her journey.
Finally taking off at 7:15 pm for a two-and-a-half-hour flight, Kai landed in the middle of the show, rushed to baggage claim, and was met by car service and a makeup lady. The frantic journey culminated in her appearance at SummerSlam, where she celebrated Iyo Sky’s victory.
