In an exclusive interview with Greg Miller of “This is Awesome,” “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day took to the streets of Detroit’s 8 Mile to discuss Dominik’s transformation and the lessons he’s learned from his time in prison.
Dominik chose 8 Mile for the interview, stating, “Why Eight Mile? I think, not I think, I know because it makes me feel at home. The streets. That’s where it all started for me. When mommy saw me get locked up in the hard streets of San Diego, it was just hard for me.”
When asked about his time in an eight by eight cell, Dominik revealed, “I had to get back to mommy. I missed my family. Having Finn and DePriest and not having them around, it was difficult for me. But now being back, like I said, it feels right. Especially out here in the streets of Detroit.”
The interview also touched on the theme of respect, with Dominik emphasizing, “Respect to me is absolutely everything. Mommy’s the only one that respects me around here. Finn and Damien obviously respect me, but as an 18-year veteran, I deserve more respect than what I’m given.”
Dominik’s reference to his 18-year veteran status led to a clarification about his debut at “SummerSlam ’05” in a match between his father and Rey Mysterio for his custody. He proudly stated, “Yeah, that was my debut. 18 years.”
