Escobar Secures Title Shot at SmackDown After Mysterio’s Match is Called Off Due to Injury

Santos Escobar emerged victorious from the first fatal four-way match a couple of weeks ago, securing his place in the final match. Last week, Rey Mysterio won his own fatal four-way match, setting up an intriguing final for SmackDown.
The match between Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar began with a show of sportsmanship in the form of a handshake before the two got down to business. However, the match took a turn when Santos executed a suicide dive on the outside, causing Mysterio to hit his head. The match was subsequently called off due to Mysterio’s injury.
As a result, Austin Theory will now defend his United States Title against Santos Escobar in two weeks on SmackDown. This presents a significant opportunity for Escobar, who could secure a title win after the summer’s biggest party.
