Former WWE Superstar Mandy Rose shares her thoughts on the popular Otis storyline and reveals her only issue with it

Romantic storylines often add an extra layer of intrigue and drama. One such storyline that captured the hearts of fans was the romantic angle between Mandy Rose and Otis. Recently, Mandy Rose took to Instagram to share her thoughts on this popular storyline and reveal some behind-the-scenes details.

The storyline, which played out in 2020, involved Otis, a member of the Alpha Academy, in a romantic pursuit of Rose. Meanwhile, Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler were plotting to keep the duo apart. The plot reached its peak at WrestleMania 36, where Rose turned her back on Ziggler and united with Otis, much to the delight of fans.

However, despite the storyline’s popularity, Rose expressed one regret during her Instagram Q&A. She stated, “I just really wish it had a better ending. But what you’re gonna do, sports entertainment, pal.” This candid admission offers a glimpse into Rose’s perspective on the storyline’s conclusion.

In a surprising revelation, Rose shared that the Otis storyline was actually her idea. She elaborated, “Otis always was around in NXT and posting pics of me and talking about how much he liked me in a cute way, not a creepy way. This continued on and I thought it would be great if this became a storyline. I actually went to Vince McMahon myself and pitched the idea and he loved it.”

Following the Otis storyline, Rose experienced a career resurgence in WWE NXT. She clinched the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Raquel Rodriguez and held the title for an impressive 413 days before losing it to Roxanne Perez.
