Baszler and Rousey Aim to Extend Their Title Reign to NXT
Shayna Baszler has set her sights on extending the reach of her and Ronda Rousey’s Women’s Tag Team Titles reign by defending the championships in NXT. Baszler, who has been a part of the WWE family for years, expressed her desire to follow in the footsteps of Sasha Banks and Bayley in bringing the titles to NXT during an interview with WrestleRant.
“That’s been a thing I’ve done as a Tag Team Champion previously, so I am ready to do it now,” Baszler stated. “I think it’s an understanding, especially the singles title you have a lot more engagements to be called to… If we are talking about how we want them to be as prestigious as the singles titles, then we also have to understand that the responsibility is going to be the same as well. We are prepared to do all that.”
Rousey and Baszler captured the Women’s Tag Team Titles on RAW after defeating Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn in a unification match. With their recent success, WWE is reportedly considering a role for Rousey in NXT as well, further suggesting that the duo’s presence will be felt in the black and gold brand.
