Toni Storm Secures AEW Women’s World Championship with a Triumphant Victory at Double or Nothing

In a thrilling showdown at Double or Nothing, Toni Storm emerged victorious to reclaim the AEW Women’s World Championship. Storm’s triumph came as she defeated Jamie Hayter in a highly anticipated match during Sunday’s pay-per-view event held in Las Vegas.

Hayter, who had been dealing with a legitimate injury according to Tony Khan, encountered further adversity as Storm’s Outcasts teammates, Ruby Soho and Saraya, launched a pre-match assault on her. This calculated attack provided Hayter with a compelling storyline explanation for her defeat while seamlessly weaving into the match itself.

During the encounter, Soho and Saraya continued to interfere on Storm’s behalf, while Britt Baker made a timely intervention in support of Hayter, seeking to counteract The Outcasts’ interference. However, it was ultimately Storm who seized the moment, propelling Hayter into an exposed turnbuckle before delivering the decisive Storm Zero, clinching the victory and reclaiming the prestigious AEW Women’s World Championship.

Hayter’s title reign concludes after an impressive 191 days, having initially secured the title by defeating Storm at Full Gear on November 19, 2022. As for Storm, her first reign as champion lasted 76 days after triumphing in a four-way match for the then-interim Women’s World title at All Out in September. This reign was later retrospectively recognized as a regular championship reign following Thunder Rosa’s unfortunate need to vacate the title due to a non-fight-related back injury.

Toni Storm’s triumphant victory not only solidifies her position as a formidable force in the women’s division but also sets the stage for an exciting new chapter in her championship reign. Wrestling enthusiasts will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating the challenges that lie ahead for the new AEW Women’s World Champion.
