NXT’s Viewership Rises Amidst NBA and NHL Playoff Competition

In a noteworthy accomplishment, WWE’s NXT witnessed a surge in viewership for its recent Tuesday night episode on the USA Network, despite facing stiff competition from the NBA and NHL playoffs. The show attracted an average of 578,000 viewers, reflecting a commendable 2.5 percent increase from the previous week. This viewership total stands as the third-highest for NXT since March 28.

NXT’s performance in the coveted 18-49 demographic also showcased positive growth, as it secured the 14th spot on the cable charts with a 0.16 rating. This marks a substantial 14.3 percent surge from the previous week and ties for the show’s fourth-highest rating of the year thus far.

It is worth noting that NXT went head-to-head with both the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, which dominated the cable charts with an impressive 2.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and the NHL Western Conference Finals, securing the fourth spot with a 0.39 rating. Despite the strong sporting competition, NXT managed to claim the title of the third-highest-rated non-sports show of the day on cable.

While NXT’s ratings improved across several categories compared to the previous week, there was a slight decline among younger female viewers. The female 18-49 demographic witnessed an 11.1 percent decrease, and females aged 12-34 showed a 16.7 percent drop. On the other hand, the show experienced its most significant surge among males aged 18-49, with a remarkable 21.1 percent increase in viewership.

In a year-to-year comparison, NXT’s overall audience experienced a notable 4.9 percent boost, and its 18-49 rating skyrocketed by an impressive 23.1 percent. These figures exemplify the show’s ability to captivate and engage its audience amidst intense competition and highlight its enduring popularity in the ever-competitive sports entertainment landscape.
