WWE Contemplates Expanding SmackDown to Three Hours, Embracing Potential Changes

The WWE landscape is brimming with possibilities, and the company appears open to exploring bold transformations. With the recent merger of Endeavor and the UFC, a new era is dawning upon WWE, leaving fans intrigued about what the future holds.

In a previous report, we highlighted WWE’s willingness to incorporate edgier content in each week’s third hour of RAW. However, there are other alterations under consideration.

During the JPMorgan TMT event, Nick Khan, WWE’s President & Chief Revenue Officer, revealed they are receptive to extending SmackDown by an additional hour. Furthermore, the involvement of Amazon was discussed, emphasizing the flexibility of scheduling SmackDown and Raw on any given night.

Khan’s statement regarding SmackDown was clear: “We’re still open to a third hour for SmackDown.”

Maintaining its historical tradition as a two-hour show, SmackDown has garnered acclaim for its tightly packed format. Many fans appreciate the show’s streamlined nature, contrasting with the potential expansion to a three-hour broadcast that remains a topic of ongoing television negotiations.

The future of WWE holds intriguing prospects. As TKO Holdings Group enters the equation, Vince McMahon and his team appear more receptive to new ventures than ever. With a wave of changes possibly on the horizon, the WWE universe eagerly awaits what lies ahead.
