AEW Hires Podcaster Will Washington for Major Creative Position

A.E.W. has made another surprising hire, this time for a behind-the-scenes role. Tony Khan has recruited a podcaster to join the company’s creative team as he seeks to bolster his team’s capabilities.

While Tony Khan’s booking was initially praised, things have taken a turn in recent memory. With so much happening in A.E.W., including the impending launch of a new Saturday show, the company has brought in additional personnel to help with creative.

As reported by Fightful behind their paywall, Will Washington has been hired in a major creative position, where he will be tasked with overseeing continuity and aiding in long-term creative planning under Tony Khan’s direction. Washington’s deal with the company was made official on April 27, ahead of his last D.A.D. broadcast. He is a seasoned wrestling podcaster, having completed over a thousand broadcasts over the course of 18 consecutive years in the space.

This is an exciting development for A.E.W., and it remains to be seen how Washington’s appointment will help shape the company’s creative direction. While Tony Khan is still the head booker for A.E.W., it is still being determined how much creative freedom he will delegate to Washington and his other team members. Nonetheless, A.E.W. remains focused on delivering exciting programming despite any negative feedback from fans.
