According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, Punk flew from Florida to Chicago on a plane with several WWE talents and talked to various people, including Triple H, for about 20-25 minutes before being asked to leave the show.
While it’s still unclear why Punk visited the show, both WWE and AEW personnel were reportedly surprised by his appearance. Meltzer speculated that Punk’s visit may be an indication of his desire to return to WWE, despite still being under contract with AEW.
This development comes just before AEW is expected to announce Punk’s return to the company and a new Saturday show that’s believed to host his comeback. The event is scheduled for June 17 at the United Center in Chicago, Punk’s hometown, adding more fuel to the speculation surrounding his future plans in the wrestling industry.
