Brood Edge claimed a hard-fought victory over The Demon Finn Balor in a grueling Hell in a Cell match, which was undoubtedly one of the most brutal encounters of WrestleMania 39. The intense match saw Edge emerge victorious over his opponent on night two of the event, in a contest that left fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Despite a valiant effort from Balor, who brought his trademark intensity to the match, Edge was ultimately able to overpower his opponent and finish him off with a devastating Con-Chair-To.
The match was set up with a narrated introduction from Russell Crowe as part of a promotional crossover with his new film, The Pope’s Exorcist. Edge, who appeared as “Brood Edge,” then made his entrance, followed by The Demon. From there, the two engaged in a fierce battle inside the cell, utilizing a range of weapons including chairs, tables, and kendo sticks.
Despite Balor’s high-flying athleticism, which saw him execute a Coup de Grace from a high point of the cell onto a table, Edge was able to dodge the move and ultimately emerge victorious.
