As media rounds ahead of WrestleMania 39 continue, WWE CEO Nick Khan recently spoke about the possibility of Stephanie McMahon returning to the company. In an interview with CNBC’s Closing Time, Khan discussed the circumstances of McMahon’s departure and whether she could be in the company’s future plans.

During the interview, Khan highlighted that McMahon was on a leave of absence when he and Vince McMahon reached out to her about returning to the company. They wanted her to take over as co-CEO alongside Khan and interim Chairwoman of the Board, while Vince McMahon stepped down due to a scandal that arose last summer.

Khan praised McMahon for her exceptional work and mentioned that she was doing well after stepping down from her role as co-CEO alongside Khan and interim Chairwoman of the Board for the company. However, he emphasized that it would ultimately be her decision whether she wants to return to the WWE.

“It’s a question for her. We would always love to have her as part of WWE. The time would need to be right for her, and I’m not sure if she’s there yet,” Khan stated.

Khan also addressed other topics during the interview, such as the bidding process for the company’s sale and the ongoing conversation about gambling in the WWE. While he couldn’t confirm the asking price for the company, he did note that there had been a “robust response” to the sale.

On the topic of Vince McMahon’s potential involvement in the company post-sale, Khan reiterated that McMahon had expressed that he doesn’t need to be a part of WWE after the sale, and Khan was still determining if McMahon wanted to be involved in.

In the interview, Khan also provided insight into WWE’s stance on gambling. While noting that the conversations were meant to be private, Khan mentioned that the company is exploring the possibility of allowing gambling on predetermined events, citing examples such as the Grammys and the Oscars where gambling is allowed in certain states. Khan expressed optimism about the potential of this proposition, and it will be interesting to see how this develops for the WWE in the future.

Overall, Khan’s interview touched on several important points about the WWE’s future and the ongoing speculation about potential changes within the company. The fans will be eagerly awaiting any developments that may arise in the near future.
