Seth Rollins has certainly made his mark in the WWE, with an impressive career spanning many years. His recent character portrayal has been nothing short of phenomenal, earning him even more popularity among wrestling fans. However, his rivalry with Cody Rhodes is ongoing, as tensions nearly boiled over backstage.
At WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and immediately engaged in a heated feud with Rollins. The two faced off in three highly entertaining matches, with Rhodes coming out victorious each time.
Their rivalry continued at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, where they faced each other in a match that ended with Logan Paul eliminating Seth Rollins.
During an appearance on the Dan LeBatard Show, Cody Rhodes was asked if there were any backstage tensions that nearly led to a physical altercation. Rhodes admitted that he and Rollins almost came to blows backstage in WWE.
Rhodes explained, “The competition that exists in wrestling, you see that suspension of disbelief on-screen, but backstage it is very real in terms of the competition, who is going to be on top. For example, who is going to headline WrestleMania. This year, being Roman Reigns and myself, it doesn’t garner a lot of friends. Seth Rollins is the closest I’ve ever had to backstage turning into a fist fight in front of all of our peers and upper management. It didn’t happen. Him and I absolutely can’t stand one another, I’d probably try and rip his eyes out.”
As WrestleMania 39 draws near, the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be on the line as Cody Rhodes takes on Roman Reigns, while Seth Rollins goes head-to-head with Logan Paul. The outcome of these matches is uncertain, but the ongoing feud between Rhodes and Rollins is sure to continue.
