AEW’s Don Callis was reportedly injured during a backstage angle on Wednesday’s Dynamite. According to a report by PWInsider, Callis was legitimately hurt during the Blackpool Combat Club’s attack on him and Hangman Page.
In the video, Callis can be seen bleeding after taking a forearm from Jon Moxley and falling to the ground. The PWInsider report suggests that Callis hit his head during the fall, leading to the cut.
After the incident, the announcers confirmed that Callis was being examined by medical staff backstage, indicating that the update was legitimate.
The angle occurred after Callis apologized to Page for a previous segment where he took a phantom bump in the ring as Page attempted to save Kenny Omega from a BCC attack. Although Page has reunited with The Elite’s Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson in the storyline, Omega has yet to reconcile his differences with Page.
The injury to Callis is a reminder of the inherent dangers of professional wrestling, and fans hope for a speedy recovery for him.
